THE BATMAN is coming to theatres courtesy of writer/director Matt Reeves (WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES) and stars Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz. In advance of the movie's March 4 opening day, we got to sit down with Pattinson and Kravitz to get the inside scoop on their approach to Batman and Catwoman.
More importantly, we got to broach a crucial subject: Exactly how much money has Bruce Wayne spent to become Batman?
"He's probably spent kind of a lot," Pattinson said, "but I don't think it's like… a hundred million!"
More to the point, "that's always been the appeal, somewhat, of Batman, is that if you had the cash, you could theoretically be Batman!" Fortunately, because this is a more rough and tumble take on the character, "in this one, you don't even need that much cash!" It also takes "a little bit of expertise, maybe some YouTube tutorials on how to build stuff."
"It's also, I think, that the money is buying you the luxury of being able to focus on this," Zoe Kravitz added sagely, agreeing with her co-star that it means a job isn't exactly essential for Bruce Wayne, or whoever else spent the money to become a superhero.
