Friendships formed in childhood can persist throughout your life in surprising ways, but that doesn't mean it's always easy to keep old bonds holding strong. SUMMER CAMP explores the lives of three friends who bonded at summer camp in their youth, and who are struggling to maintain their old level of camaraderie.
With Diane Keaton leading the cast, there's a strong BOOK CLUB sensibility to this new comedy, and that's a good thing. Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard round out the trio of friends, to serve up some rich comedic energy. Here's the trailer for SUMMER CAMP and more info about the campy comedy.
What's the Summer Camp Release Date?

Watch the Trailer for Summer Camp
This SUMMER CAMP trailer sets up more or less everything you need to see: The characters, the scenario, and the fact that Diane Keaton's on-screen style is essentially exactly the same as her personal style off-screen. (Not a bad thing!) It's funny and lighthearted, with obvious chemistry between all the leads.
Who's in the Cast of Summer Camp?
In addition to Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates, and Alfre Woodard, SUMMER CAMP also features Beverly D'Angelo, Nicole Richie, Josh Peck, and Eugene Levy.
The cast also features Betsy Sodaro and Dennis Haysbert, with Victoria Rowell, Maria Howell, Tom Wright, and Ray Santiago.
Summer Camp Is From the Filmmaker of the After Series
Anna Todd's "After" novels have been turned into a five-movie series of romantic dramas about young lovers Tessa and Hardin, and the obstacles they face as their relationship develops.
The three most recent After movies — AFTER WE FELL, AFTER EVER HAPPY, and AFTER EVERYTHING — were directed by 32-year old SUMMER CAMP filmmaker Castille Landon, who also scripted AFTER EVERYTHING. In fact, after making SUMMER CAMP she's likely to go back to the After series, as a sequel and prequel are both planned, with Landon set to direct.
SUMMER CAMP opens on May 31.
