Spider-Man is swinging back to the big screen. SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME gets bigger and better with THE MORE FUN STUFF VERSION, with new and extended scenes. You can see this extended version of the biggest movie of 2021 exclusively in movie theatres beginning on September 2, 2022.

Way back in the day, movies were re-released to theatres pretty often. Now, thanks to streaming and other home viewing options, it's a lot more rare. (But it still happens; AVATAR is coming back in September, too.) So we're going to celebrate the option to see NO WAY HOME on the big screen one more time!

A Spidey-Versary Party

One reason for the MORE FUN STUFF VERSION is that this year marks 20 years of Spider-Man movies (Sam Raimi's original debuted in 2002) and 60 years of Spider-Man, since the character debuted in "Amazing Fantasy" issue 15, back in 1962.

The More Fun Stuff Version Trailer

A brief trailer is available for THE MORE FUN STUFF VERSION of SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME. While most of this footage will be familiar to fans, this trailer does show off a bit of the newly-added scenes, too.

What's New in the More Fun Stuff Version?

We don't know precisely what's in the extended cut of the movie, but we will likely see the deleted scenes originally planned for the first Blu-ray release of NO WAY HOME. Those scenes were reportedly cut from the disc at the last minute — possibly as plans came together for this re-release.

At one point, "more than 90 minutes" of bonus content, including deleted scenes, was said to be included on the NO WAY HOME disc. In the end it was "more than 80 minutes," with no deleted scenes. Fandango has confirmed that this cut of the movie has 11 minutes of additional scenes — and we know that, as part of that runtime, existing scenes in NO WAY HOME will be extended as well.

(By the way, titles for those as-yet unseen deleted scenes are "Peter Day at Midtown High", "Undercroft Montage", "Happy's Very Good Lawyer", and "The Spideys Hang Out".)

It's All For Fun

As the movie's cheeky new title suggests, don't expect any scenes that will dramatically change what we know about the MCU. There probably won't be a surprise Wolverine appearance, for example.

THE MORE FUN STUFF VERSION of NO WAY HOME is more likely to be all about getting to spend more time with the characters you love — which is to say Spider-Man, Spider-Man, and Spider-Man.
