The Grinch tried to steal Christmas, but in RED ONE, the bad guys go straight to stealing Santa. With the jolly old elf in the hands of the wrong people (or the wrong creatures), two of the biggest movie stars, Chris Evans and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, team up to save him.
RED ONE is the first true team-up for Evans and The Rock, and it leans into the mix of comedy and entertaining action you would hope to see from a two-hander featuring the two stars. Here's the latest trailer for RED ONE and everything else you need to know.
What's the Red One Release Date?
Amazon and MGM will release RED ONE in movie theaters on November 15, 2024.

This trailer sets up all the major points about RED ONE that indicate what kind of movie it is — the reluctant and/or coerced participation by Evans's character, the muscle of The Rock, and the holiday-themed monsters and enemies that stand between them and Santa.
Who's in the Cast of Red One?
While the two leading men both made cameo appearances in FREE GUY, they've never properly teamed up in a movie before. Chris Evans plays tracker extraordinaire Jack O'Malley, while Dwayne Johnson plays Callum Drift, who is the leading agent for North Pole security. Lucy Liu plays Drift's boss, Zoe Harlow, while J. K. Simmons is wonderfully cast as Santa Claus.
Additionally, Kiernan Shipka appears as Grýla, who seems to be one of the villains, if not the major villain. Reinaldo Faberlle provides the voice of the polar bear Agent Garcia, who serves as Drift's right-hand man… er, bear. And Bonnie Hunt plays Mrs. Claus.
The cast also features Kristofer Hivju as Krampus, with Nick Kroll, Wesley Kimmel, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Jenna Kanell.
Who Is the Red One Villain, Grýla?
Grýla is a figure from Icelandic folklore. While Grýla has been around in various forms for a long time, in the 1600s she became associated with Christmas. Think of Grýla like an inverse Santa Claus. She's an ogress (or a troll, or a general monster, depending on the specific story) who captures and eats naughty children. Maybe centuries of Santa teaching children to be good has deprived her of her favorite meal?
The Walk Hard and Jumanji Director Made Red One
Jake Kasdan is best known for a wide variety of movies, from the unusual slacker noir ZERO EFFECT to WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY and the two recent JUMANJI movies. He also worked on "Freaks & Geeks" and the follow-up series, "Undeclared."
Kasdan worked from a screenplay by Chris Morgan, who is best known for writing most of the FAST & FURIOUS movies.
RED ONE opens on November 15.
