Put a collection of comedians in a movie with Mel Brooks, and they're going to see stars — even if they're all doing their work in the voice booth rather than on a movie set. That's the case with PAWS OF FURY: THE LEGEND OF HANK, which is a loose remake of the Brooks comedy classic BLAZING SADDLES.
Michael Cera voices the title character, Hank, a somewhat down on his luck hound who is set up to protect a village of cats beset by a domineering villain. When we spoke with Cera, whose voice work is unerringly great in the movie, he praised Hank's inner strength and the fact that he just can't be knocked down (metaphorically and, eventually, physically.)
George Takei, meanwhile, is almost aghast at the degree to which his character, Ohga, seems to have, shall we say, let himself go. "It took all the acting I had to feel bloated and servile next to a tiny little arrogant cat," he jokes. (At least we think he's joking.)
