Believe it or not, Memorial Day is coming up quickly. The days are longer, the weather is slowly getting warmer, and the summer movie slate will soon be in full swing. From superhero franchise installments to highly-anticipated big-screen treatments of beloved television shows, to original horror, reinvigorated horror, and long-awaited sequels, there is something for everyone.
With so many exciting new movies, it may feel a little overwhelming to figure out where to start. But that’s far from a bad thing, and, thankfully, Cinemark has got you covered. If you’re looking for a movie to spend time with at the end of May, you’ve come to the right place. In 2024, Memorial Day officially falls on Monday, May 27. That makes Friday, May 24 the big movie day for Memorial Day weekend this year.

Furiosa
As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home. [May 24]
The Garfield Movie
Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt), the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist. [May 24]

Based on the true story of Dr. Ming Wang, a poor Chinese immigrant who defied all odds to become a world-renowned eye surgeon in the United States. Set in 1970s rural China, a young Ming faces persecution and despair at every turn; but with the support of his dedicated family and his own unwavering determination, he finds his way to America, attends Harvard and MIT, and helps develop an innovative technology that restores sight in millions. Taking on the seemingly impossible challenge of helping a blind orphan, the resilient Dr. Wang must reconcile with his own traumatic past and face the harsh reality that the strength of his own will can only go so far. Spider-Man: Far From Home
One day only! Our Spider-Monday series continues on Memorial Day with a presentation of the second Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. Our friendly neighborhood superhero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter's plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks. Spider-Man and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) join forces to fight the havoc unleashed across the continent but all is not as it seems. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
