Few filmmakers actually deserve to be called "legendary" at this point, but Clint Eastwood earned the adjective decades ago. While Eastwood was originally famous as a movie star, he spends a lot more time behind the camera than in front of it these days. (He has only played two lead roles in the last decade.)

JUROR #2 is Eastwood's latest film as director — his 40th, actually! It's a courtroom drama about a man, played by Nicholas Hoult, who faces a moral choice that will almost certainly affect the rest of his life, no matter what he chooses to do.

What's the Juror #2 Release Date?

Warner Bros. Pictures will release JUROR #2 in movie theaters on November 1, 2024.

Watch the First Trailer for Juror #2

This first trailer for JUROR #2 isn't just a great trailer; it's one of the best movie trailers we've seen in a while. The trailer sets up the main characters and a difficult moral quandary, but does not tip its hand with respect to how it will all play out, much less what it means for everyone involved.

Who's in the Cast of Juror #2?

Clint Eastwood always assembles strong casts for any new movie, and JUROR #2 is no exception. Nicholas Hoult stars as Justin Kemp, whose position as a juror on a murder trial leads him to reexamine an event from his own recent past. Hoult is always a great actor but we don't seem him do as many meaty dramatic roles as we'd like, and the trailer for this film suggests that he might be excellent in the role.

Working with Hoult is an amazing supporting cast, including Toni Collette, J. K. Simmons, Kiefer Sutherland, and Zoey Deutch, playing Kemp's wife. Big fans of Collette and Hoult might realize that this is a reunion for the two, who played mother and son in ABOUT A BOY more than 20 years ago.

The film also features Chris Messina, Cedric Yarbrough, Gabriel Basso, Francesca Eastwood, Leslie Bibb, and Amy Aquino.

Clint Eastwood's Filmmaking Mastery

After 40 movies, few people have filmmaking down like Clint Eastwood. As a director, Eastwood is calm and methodical, but he always prioritizes actors. That probably helps explain why actors are always eager to work with him — beyond the fact that, you know, he's Clint Eastwood!

Eastwood is famous for filming movies quickly, often doing just one or two takes for any given shot. Having 70 years of filmmaking experience under his belt means that Eastwood has a level of confidence and competence that makes the word "mastery" seem inadequate. That's born from a body of knowledge that might surpass nearly every other living director. A few peers such as Mel Brooks, Lee Grant, and documentarian Frederick Wiseman have the same level of experience — as did Roger Corman and Norman Lear before they passed in the past year.

In short, a new Clint Eastwood movie is a rare gift! We're ready to savor this one.
