After more than four decades, HALLOWEEN ENDS brings the story of Laurie Strode and Michael Myers to a close. Jamie Lee Curtis launched her movie career with the starring role in John Carpenter's original HALLOWEEN, and she has periodically returned to the series. HALLOWEEN ENDS marks the end of a trilogy that began in 2018 thanks to Curtis and director David Gordon Green.
"Everything good in my life is because of Laurie Strode," Curtis says. "My entire career, my husband is directly related to Laurie Strode."
Curtis says that her character represents "a girl who never gives up," who is "emblematic of a sort of message that we should all be sharing with each other every day. Rather than tearing each other down we should be saying to everybody life is hard, but don't give up it's going to be OK. And I get that everywhere I go because I'm Laurie Strode."
Even though Laurie and Michael have been battling for years, David Gordon Green says there's still fresh territory to explore.
"If I've engineered the story right," he says, "we've written a movie that invites people into some familiar territory and then takes them to some unexpected places. That's the hope, that this movie with these iconic characters with this Halloween mythology can still feel fresh, can still surprise you."
