Four former Regal Theaters locations, in California, Illinois, Maryland, and Texas, have reopened as Cinemark theaters. All four locations are open for business! The changeovers took place in August 2023. While a search for the old theater names may show a result suggesting permanent closure, all four theater locations have been fully operational since August 2023.

All four Regal locations closed as part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings undertaken by Regal's parent company, Cineworld. Those closures, while initially announced as permanent, turned out to be relatively short. All four locations reopened under their current Cinemark ownership within weeks of Regal and Cineworld's decision.
