After decades of waiting to see whether or not author Judy Blume would ever allow a movie to adapt one of her most influential books, fans are eager to see ARE YOU THERE GOD? IT'S ME, MARGARET. The movie, for which Blume is a very involved producer, is written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig, with Abby Ryder Fortson in the title role, and Rachel McAdams, Elle Graham, Benny Safdie, and Kathy Bates in key supporting roles.
We got to talk to Blume and Craig about the process of adapting the book, and also spoke to Abby Ryder Fortson and Rachel McAdams about their roles and the important role the story has played for so many young readers over the years.
